Ōmokoroa to Tauranga - Part Closed
Wairoa River Bridge Cycleway is CLOSED - Please note that the cycleway along the bridge is currently closed due to a weather related slip. Car parking is available at the Wairoa River Reserve.
Cycleway is CLOSED between Ridge Drive and Flounder Drive due to a significant slip.
Caution is needed on the cycleway between Ōmokoroa Esplanade to Beach Grove as the track is narrowly taped off due to cracking at the edge of the track.
Getting there
There are a number of places you can begin the trail. From the Ōmokoroa end you can begin at the Ōmokoroa Domain on The Esplanade, or Plummers Point.

The entire route is 19km
The Ōmokoroa to Tauranga Cycleway and Walkway is made up of both new and existing off-road shared paths and local road connections. Once fully open, it will provide a link between the growing township of Ōmokoroa and Tauranga City.
This scenic route provides fantastic views of the Tauranga Harbour, around estuaries, through wetlands, and across bridges and boardwalks. Make sure you keep an eye out to spot local bird life, especially in the wetland areas.
This is a shared trail so walkers and cyclists must take care and respect other users.
