The following tracks are closed due to kauri disease - a rāhui (temporary restriction) is in place until further notice:
- Upper Waitawheta Track
- Wharawhara Tramway Track
- Te Rereatukahia Hut Track
- Wharawhara Link Track
The following tracks are closed due to slips:
- North-South Track to Waiorongomai - A significant land slip has occurred on the track to Kauritatahi Hut. The track is closed until further notice as it is blocked by heavy debris, vegetation and large boulders. Do not attempt to cross this slip.
- North-South Track (Rereatukahia to Tuahu) - A significant land slip has occurred on the track to Kauritatahi Hut. The track is closed until further notice as it is blocked by heavy debris, vegetation and large boulders. Do not attempt to cross this slip.
The following track is closed due to work being done in the area:
- Te Rereatukahia Hut Track- Western Bay Of Plenty District Council are upgrading the Wharawhara water treatment plant along the access road leading up to the Wharawhara Tramway. This is a construction site with multiple hazards. While this work is being carried out the Wharawhara Tramway Track will remain closed.
