Required information to provide with your application
Before submitting your online application, you will need to ensure you have uploaded the relevant information required for your application. There is specific information requirements depending on the type of resource consent application you require. It is in your best interest to submit a well prepared application, which covers all aspects of your proposal. This will save you both time and processing costs.
The online application form provides help guides on the specific information you need for each type of application. As a guide most of the application types will require you to upload the following information:
Record of Title – PDF Format
The Record of Title (previously referred to as Computer Registers or Certificate of Title) and/or other documents including Consent Notices, Encumbrances, etc. The Record of Title provided must be less than 3 months old. You can order one via LINZ.
Application plans – PDF Format
LOCATION PLAN OR AERIAL PHOTOGRAPH
Show the physical location or the application site in relation to adjoining streets and sites.
SITE PLAN / FLOOR PLAN
Show all relevant features of the site and proposed activity/s such as the property & title boundaries, topographical information, natural features, existing and proposed buildings & structures, buildings on adjacent sites, earthworks design and contours, landscaping, building coverage calculation, internal floor layout and room type/purpose, vehicle crossings, driveways, parking and manoeuvring areas, details of any signage (sign design, dimensions, location and position on any building/s)
Show the natural ground level to the site boundaries, existing and finished ground levels, the depth of cut/fill for any proposed earthworks, the maximum building height and relevant height plan and daylighting angle/s of existing and proposed buildings & structures (where applicable), the external appearance of the building.
Show all legal boundaries, easements including relevant memorandum & schedules, any amalgamation conditions, any esplanade areas, on-site protection features, building platform areas.
Show the position of all new boundaries, areas of all new allotments, the locations and areas of new reserves to be created, the locations and areas of any existing esplanade reserves, esplanade strips, and access strips, the locations and areas of any part of the bed of a river or lake to be vested, the locations and areas of any land within the coastal marine area, the locations and areas of land to be set aside as new roads. Demonstrate how the lots will be provided with drinking water and how wastewater and stormwater will be managed.
Application assessment – PDF Format
There is no set format to an application assessment and it will vary considerably depending on the type of application you require and the scale and significance of the effects the activity may have on the environment. The online application form provides help guides on the specific information you need for each type of application. An AEE or Assessment of Environmental Effects is an essential part of many application types. Schedule 4 of the RMA outlines all of the matters that must be addressed in your AEE.
