Arts Grants for Ethnic Communities in the Western Bay District
Applications are now open and will close on Friday, 2 October 2026. Funding decisions are expected by Friday, 16 October 2026.
This fund supports ethnic communities in the Western Bay of Plenty to celebrate and share their arts, culture, customs, and traditions.
Administered by Creative Bay of Plenty, the fund offers grants of up to $2,000 for activities that celebrate cultural arts and take place within the Western Bay of Plenty District. Please note that activities taking place in Tauranga are not eligible for this fund.
Eligible activities may include:
- drama
- visual or object art
- festivals
- music
- dance
- performance
- creative writing
- photography
The application process is simple, and decisions will be made within two weeks of the closing date.
Ethnic communities may include migrants, former refugees, long-term settlers, and multi-generational New Zealanders who identify as African, Asian, Pasifika, continental European, Latin American, or Middle Eastern.
Both for-profit and not-for-profit organisations may apply. However, applications will not be considered where the organisation intends to make a profit from the activity being funded.
Projects must:
- have a clear start and finish date
- not have started before funding decisions are advised
- take place within the Western Bay of Plenty District
