Proposal for Road Closures - NZ Silver Fern Rally 2026

Pursuant to Section 342, Schedule Ten, 11(e) of the Local Government Act 1974 and the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, notice is hereby given that the Western Bay of Plenty District Council, for the purpose of NZ Silver Fern Rally 2026 proposes to close the following road(s) to ordinary vehicular traffic for the period indicated hereunder:

Roads proposed to be closed to ordinary vehicular traffic:

• Mangatoi Rd – 200m from the junction of Mangatoi Rd/SH36 (Pyes Pa Rd) to the junction of No. 2 Rd.
• No. 2 Rd from the junction of Mangatoi Rd, past Mountain Rd through to 1470 No. 2 Rd.

Period of proposed closure: 30 November 2026 – 7.40am to 12.10pm

Roads proposed to be closed to ordinary vehicular traffic:

• Pongakawa Bush Rd from 935 Pongakawa Bush Rd to the junction of Pugh Rd
• Pugh Rd – entire length closed.
• Maniatutu Rd from the junction with Pugh Road to 1815 Maniatutu Rd.

Period of proposed closure: 30 November 2026 - 8.55am to 1.25pm

Roads proposed to be closed to ordinary vehicular traffic:

• Rotoehu Rd, from 391 Rotoehu Rd to the junction of Pongakawa Valley Rd.
• Pongakawa Valley Rd from the junction of Rotoehu & Pongakawa Valley Rd, past Hamilton Rd junction to the junction of Pongakawa Valley Rd & Tombleson Rd.

Period of proposed closure: 30 November 2026 – 9.20am to 1.50pm

During the proposed period of closure, ordinary vehicular traffic will only be permitted to use the roads at the direction of race officials.
