2026 Rally BOP - Proposal To Close Roads to Vehicular Traffic

Proposal To Close Pongakawa Valley Rd, Rotoehu Rd, MacDougall Quarry Rd, Ōtamarakau Rd and Cambell Rd, To Vehicular Traffic

Pursuant to Section 342, Schedule Ten, 11(e) of the Local Government Act 1974 and the

Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, notice is hereby given that the Western Bay of Plenty District Council, for the purpose of 2026 Rally Bay of Plenty proposes to close the following road(s) to ordinary vehicular traffic for the period indicated hereunder.

Road proposed to be closed to ordinary vehicular traffic:

• Pongakawa Valley Rd from Gate 395 through to Rotoehu Rd. Rotoehu Rd from junction with Pongakawa Valley Rd to Gate 1410.
  Period of proposed closure: 31 October 2026, 8:00am to 11:30am
• MacDougall Quarry Rd from Gate 43 through to junction with Ōtamarakau Valley Rd. Ōtamarakau Valley Rd from junction with MacDougall Quarry Rd through to junction with Campbell Rd, Campbell Rd in its entirety.

Period of proposed closure: 31 October 2026, 8:45am to 12:00pm

During the proposed period of closure, ordinary vehicular traffic will only be permitted to use the roads at the direction of race officials.
