Rating Revaluation 2026/27
Quotable Value Limited (QV), on behalf of Western Bay of Plenty District Council, has completed the three-yearly rating valuation of the properties in the district.
The Valuation Rolls for Western Bay of Plenty District Council have been revised by Quotable Value Limited (as Council’s valuation service provider).
A rating valuation is a three-yearly assessment of a property's value on a specified date, in this case 1 August 2025. It is determined by a number of factors which includes house sale prices. We use these valuations as a guide for setting your rates. The new valuations will be used to set rates for the next rating year (1 July 2026 – 30 June 2027).
Revaluations do not necessarily mean an increase or decrease in rates. It depends on how your property’s value changes compared with everyone else’s. Usually, only properties with an above average valuation movement will pay higher rates. A below average movement may mean you pay less.
The revised rating valuations are effective as at 1 August 2025 and the new notices of valuation will be posted to owners and ratepayers from 11 March 2026.
The revised rating valuations are available to be inspected on Quotable Value’s website at qv.co.nz/property-search.
