Upcoming road maintenance works in Waihī Beach village
We will be undertaking kerb and channel replacement work at various sites around Waihi Beach village, as part of our current planned pavement maintenance works across the District. This work ensures our roads are maintained to a high standard, to keep everyone safe and traffic flowing smoothly.
What is the scope of work?
The planned work includes digging out and removing the existing kerb and channel, backfilling with roading material and preparing the site, pouring the new kerb and channel, backfilling in front of and behind the new kerb and channel once it has been poured.
When is this work happening?
- Starting Wednesday, 4 March for approximately 4 weeks (weather permitting).
- Work will be from 7am – 6pm Monday to Friday. No work is planned for weekends or public holidays.
Where will you be working?
We will be completing this work at various sites around Waihi Beach village. The red lines on the maps below show the locations of our work sites.
What traffic management will be in place?
- Each work site will be under stop/go operations, to ensure the safety of the public and to give our team a safe working zone. The location of the stop/go will change depending on which site in Waihi Beach village our team are working at each day. Stop/go will be in place during our daytime working hours.
- Footpaths near our work site may be closed, and clear diversions will be in place for pedestrians.
- Please follow the signage around our work site or speak with our friendly team for assistance.
- Rubbish and recycling collections will continue as normal throughout this work.
Access to your property during this work
During the dig out and curing period, residents will not be able to drive over the work area, meaning there will be no vehicle access to your property. The concrete kerb and channel requires approximately one week to fully set. During this time, we kindly ask you to please park on the roadside. Once the new kerb and channel has set and hardened and is safe to drive over, access to your property will be restored. We will speak with you directly to explain this work in more detail and answer any questions you may have about access to your property.
We understand that construction works are noisy and disruptive, and we will strive to complete works as efficiently as possible. We apologise for the inconvenience caused during this project.
