🌧️ Help Prevent Flooding – Check Your Driveway Culvert Today

Area-wide inspections have shown numerous culverts are blocked on private driveways, resulting in surface flooding to roads and the potential for inundation into adjacent landowners’ properties.

A culvert is a pipe or channel that allows water to flow under your driveway, helping to manage stormwater and prevent flooding. When culverts are blocked by leaves, soil, rubbish, or other debris, water can’t flow properly. This leads to pooling on roads and can cause flooding on your property or your neighbours’.

✅ What you can do:

Check your driveway culvert regularly, especially before and after heavy rain.

Clear away any debris, vegetation, or sediment that may be blocking the entrance or exit.

If your culvert is damaged or blocked beyond what you can manage, contact Council for advice.

⚠️ Don’t have a culvert? If your driveway doesn’t have a culvert, you may be at greater risk of flooding. Without a way for water to pass through, stormwater can build up and overflow onto your land or nearby roads. Installing a culvert can help protect your property and improve drainage in your area.
