The watermain breakages have now been repaired and water supply has been restored to affected areas. Some households may continue to have lower water pressure or experience air pockets as the system recovers.
Please continue to conserve water where possible over the next 24 hours while our reservoirs return to normal levels.
Thanks for your patience
11am:
We are currently feeding water into Paengaroa from Te Puke, and residents should start seeing water restored before lunchtime.
Wilson Road North and South may still be without water until mid-afternoon, but we are working hard to get this fixed.
Maketu residents may notice low water pressure.
If you have water, please conserve it as much as possible if you are in the Paengaroa, Pongakawa or Maketu areas.
A water tanker with fresh water is available at the Paengaroa Community Hall on Old Coach Road and another is stationed at the Maketu Surf Club. Bring containers from home to fill.
Once your water has been restored, you may notice your water has a cloudy appearance. This is actually lots of tiny air bubbles which happens when a water main is repaired and flushed. The water is safe to drink.
Please call us on 0800 926 732 if you have any further concerns.
9.45am:
We expect the broken pipes to be fixed and water restored to all areas by mid-afternoon today. We are working as quickly as possible.
A water tanker with fresh water is available at the Paengaroa Community Hall on Old Coach Road and another will be stationed at the Maketu Surf Club before 10am. Bring containers from home to fill.
If you have water, please conserve it as much as possible if you are in the Paengaroa, Pongakawa, Maketu areas.
Thank you for your patience.
8.30am:
The water pipe break at Pongakawa Treatment Plant is still under repair. Work is also being done at Wilson Road North.
A water tanker with fresh water is available at the Maketu Surf Club before 10am this morning.
Maketu residents may be experiencing lower water pressure due to the reservoir levels dropping overnight as a result of the leak.

11.25pm:
The latest eta to have water back to Pongakawa and Paengaroa is around 12.30am tonight. If water coming from your tap looks cloudy after this point don't worry! It's caused by bubbles of trapped air and sometimes happens when we repair a water main.
Unfortunately we've discovered one other broken pipe which will affect properties on Wilson Road North. Our crews are working overnight and expect this to be resolved before breakfast time.
For those of you without water we have a trailer tanker of fresh water set up outside the Paengaroa Community Hall.
9.25pm:
We've found the source of the leak and are fixing this at the moment. For those without water we have a trailer tanker on the way from Katikati. This will be parked at the Paengaroa Community Hall from around 10.30pm. You can bring containers from home and fill them with fresh water from the tanker. At the moment the eta to have water back up and running is midnight. Thanks for your patience!
8.30pm:
