Te Puke area residents asked to conserve water
Western Bay of Plenty District Council is asking residents in Te Puke, Maketū, Pongakawa, Paengaroa and Pukehina to limit water use to essential household needs while urgent repairs are completed on a bore supplying the Eastern Supply Zone.
The bore has been out of service for the past two days, and the hot weather has increased demand, causing reservoir levels to gradually drop. If demand is not reduced there is a risk of water shortages, particularly in the Te Puke area.
Repairs are expected to be resolved by Saturday.
Residents are asked to hold off on sprinklers, garden watering, car washing and other non-essential water use on Thursday and Friday.
Our team is closely monitoring the network and will provide updates if the situation changes.
