Ready, set, LEASH!
Western Bay dog owners and their four-legged friends are invited to get out and explore their rohe this summer as Council’s Wander Walk Summer Series returns for 2026-2027.
Back by paw-pular demand, the series will bring a Woofstock vibe to six free events for the whole family at dog-friendly locations across the District. All Wander Walk attendees will automatically be entered into the draw to win a $250 Animates voucher.
The first walk will be held at Te Puna Quarry Park on Saturday 7 November, with the series culminating in Doggy Day Out at the Ōmokoroa Sportsground on Saturday 20 March 2027.
Western Bay of Plenty District Council Team Leader Animal Services, Peter Hrstich, says the series is a chance for people and their dogs to discover new places together while reinforcing responsible dog ownership.
“Wander Walks are a great opportunity for people and their dogs to enjoy the outdoors, meet others and discover some of the fantastic dog-friendly places we have around the Western Bay,” says Peter.
