Symposium at the Point is a partner of the Bay of Plenty Garden and Art Festival.
Twelve artists will be on site across the Symposium days and they include Jeff Thomson, Ioane Ioane, Peata Larkin, Sheyne Tuffery, Nico Woodward, Margaret Feeney, Rebecca Rose, Julie Moselen, Toi Te Rangiuaia, and representing our local Hapu Darcy Nicholas and Marcell Murphy.
Expect to see artworks created in wood, metal, bamboo, stone and recycled materials.
The event will conclude with a live auction of the works created on the last day of the festival, Sunday 22 November.
Visitors can expect to see artworks being created and also participate in public engagement opportunities or workshops offered by the participating artists.
The Symposium is supported by Western Bay of Plenty District Council, Centre Trust, Wright Family Investments, We Care Community Trust, Creative Communities and Omokoroa Country Club.
A dedicated education programme gives students the opportunity to connect with artists, explore creative thinking and discover how ideas become artworks. School visits to the Symposium and visits can be booked online through publicartomokoroa.org.
