Payment of Infringement Notices
You have 28 days to pay an Infringement Notice. After this time, a reminder notice will be sent to the defendant and if the Infringement Notice remains unpaid after a further 28 days, it will be passed to the Ministry of Justice for collection. A Court collection fee of $55 is added to the original Infringement Notice.
Below are the types of infringements that can be paid via this page:
- Building infringements
- Building Warrant of Fitness infringements
- Dog infringements
- Litter infringements
- Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act infringement
- Resource Management Act infringement
Extended Payment Options
Payment of the Infringement Notice is requested by the due date, to avoid Court action.
Where cases of financial hardship are established by you, provision may be made, after receiving your written request, to seek an extended payment option.
Where no written request is made for such option, within two months from the date of issue of the Infringement Notice, the matter will proceed to Court.
Where a request is received within the prescribed two months, an extension of time may be given for payment, but this will not exceed a total of six months from the date of issue of Infringement Notice.

Infringement payments can be made online using:
- Credit Cards (which attracts a 1.22% fee)
- Debit Card (which may also attract a 1.22% fee)
- POLi Internet Banking (pay straight from your bank account, with no surcharge)

To make things easier, please have your Infringement Notice number handy and be certain to enter your email address correctly.
Payments made after 10.30pm New Zealand time will be processed the following business day, so please allow plenty of time for processing your payment. If you leave things too late then your payment could be processed after the due date which may result in a late payment penalty.
Once the transaction is completed you will be given a reference number and a confirmation notification will be sent to your email for your records. Please note a receipt will not be provided.
Payment via internet / phone banking
You can pay for an Infringement Notice using internet banking, direct from your bank account to Council.
Please include the Infringement Notice number as the reference. This will ensure your payment is credited against the correct Infringement Notice.

Payment in person
Payment can be made in-person by cash, EFTPOS or credit card at our Barkes Corner head office or at any of Council's libraries and service centres in Katikati, Ōmokoroa, Te Puke or Waihi Beach. It's important to note that our bank charges a convenience fee of 1.22% per transaction for credit card transactions.
