Disposing of Swimming / Spa Pool Water

Swimming and spa pool water can contain chemicals such as chlorine and copper. These chemicals 'treat' the water to kill harmful bacteria and/or algae. If this treated water is discharged in to stormwater systems or streams it has the potential to harm, or even kill fish and other aquatic life.

We've put together these guidelines (PDF, 36.2KB) to help you correctly dispose of swimming and spa pool water.

By following the guidelines you can be sure of playing your part to protect the District's precious stream and harbour environment.
