The Provisional Tauranga and Western Bay of Plenty Local Alcohol Policy was adopted on 12 May, 2015 when the Alcohol Regulatory and Licensing Authority made its final decision in the appeals process.
Tauranga City Council, at its meeting on 22 July 2015, and Western Bay of Plenty District Council, at its meeting on 13 August 2015, resolved to bring the joint Local Alcohol Policy
into force on 16 November 2015.
The Local Alcohol Policy sets licensed hours for both on and off licences in the sub-region and also introduces a one way door:Licensed Hours for on-licences
From 16 November the maximum trading hours will be 9am to 1am the following day excluding those premises in the Tauranga City Centre (defined in the map on the last page of the LAP). Licensed Hours for off licences
From 16 November the maximum hours during which alcohol may be sold or supplied from an off licence is from 7am until 10pm.One Way Door
From 16 November restaurants, bars, taverns, pubs, and nightclubs in the Tauranga City Centre which have trading hours until 3am will be restricted from allowing people to enter the premises from 2am until closing time.
