Pio Shores/Bowentown Community Stormwater Improvements
Council is working with the Pio Shores and Bowentown community to tackle stormwater flooding issues. The stormwater system uses both gravity and pump systems. The pump system consists of five pump stations which have seen a number of improvements over the years. Three of these pump stations discharge to the sand dune basin area. A project to upgrade two pump stations is underway after recent studies identified an opportunity to increase stormwater discharge to the dunes.
Pio Shore Stormwater Management Plan
The management plan monitors the efficiency of the wider stormwater catchment to identify areas requiring improvement.

This project is progressing well with design completed for the two pump stations. The discharge pipe routes have been confirmed and installation is planned to be completed by July 2022.
