Te Puke Highway works and lane closure
On Monday 20 February 2023, a second coat of seal will be applied over the recently laid sections of Te Puke Highway located between Broken Hill and Carlyles Drilling.
This is the final stage of a two coat seal design. The timing of this work is weather dependent.
This work will require a lane closure from 5am Monday 20 February 2023, and is expected to take 4 days (weather dependent). The road closure is required due to a narrow section in the road and shoulder, which cannot accommodate the work to be completed safely while keeping two lanes of traffic open.
Traffic management will remain in place for a further 2 days after the road is fully reopened.
While the lane closure is in place, traffic heading towards Te Puke from Tauranga/Papamoa will be diverted along the Tara Road, Parton Road, Bell Road route. VMS boards will be displayed advising of the upcoming diversion dates.
Traffic travelling from Te Puke towards Tauranga will continue as normal, with speed restrictions in place.
