A section of Te Ara Kahikatea walkway in Te Puke will be temporarily closed at the railway bridge for four days - from Monday 27 July to Thursday 30 July - while KiwiRail carries out essential repairs to the rail bridge. (This closure was initially scheduled for 21-23 July but has since been re-scheduled)
The closure will only affect the section of the walkway at the railway bridge, as shown on the map below. Signage and barriers will be in place. People using the walkway will need to turn around at the closure point, as there will be no access past the rail bridge during these four days.
We appreciate your patience while this important maintenance is completed.
