World Naked Bike Ride - Waihi Beach

The International World Naked Bike Ride is a lighthearted protest but with serious intent, held in over 100 cities and towns world-wide.
Come along and join with us to raise awareness to the vulnerability of cyclists on our roads, who often fall victim to motorists who fail to see them. Help to promote cycling as a healthy alternative to the excessive use of cars and dependency on fossil fuels, which contribute to global warming and climate change. Celebrate the human body in all its shapes and sizes, and help to dispel the cruel, unattainable myth of the "ideal body" that is portrayed in the glossy fashion magazines.
No, you don't have to ride naked if that's beyond your comfort zone! The motto is "Ride as Bare as you Dare!"
This is a fun community event, open to anyone proficient enough to ride a bike on the street. And best of all - it's free!
