Come and join the Sikh community in celebrating its annual street parade in Te Puke.
The parade will leave from the Sikh Temple Te Puke carpark, 26 No 3 Road, Te Puke. It will then continue along Atuaroa Avenue, up to Jellicoe Street to the Oxford Street roundabout and back to the Sikh Temple for food and entertainment. Last year’s inaugural event featured around 800 Sikhs with displays of traditional music along with kirpan (the sword or small dagger carried by Sikhs). Western Bay of Plenty District Council proudly sponsors this event to help celebrate the diversity and traditions of our District.
