Omokoroa is increasing in services to cater for its growing population. There is a supermarket; medical centre; cafes; Western Bay of Plenty District Council Library and Service Centre; police kiosk; dairies; takeaways; trade services; a local service station.
Recreationally there is an 18-hole golf club, tennis club, boat club and restaurant. A skate park and the large Western Avenue Recreational Reserve provide great outdoor space for all ages.
The jetty at the tip of the peninsula is the departure and arrival point for the Matakana Island ferry and is a popular boat launching facility and fishing spot. Adjacent to the jetty is the Omokoroa beachfront reserve and children's playground. The foreshore provides for safe swimming and kayaking.
Council owns and maintains several reserves on the peninsula providing great picnicking and walking opportunities.
Please check with the private contractors whether they provide kerbside collection at your address. If they do, you can arrange for a 'wheelie bin' or buy a pre-paid collection bag from supermarkets, dairies or service stations. Please ensure rubbish is put out for collection no later than 7.30am on the allocated day only.

Council doesn't operate any transfer stations (rubbish dumps/tips) in the Western Bay. Transfer stations are available at Maleme Street, Greerton (Tauranga), Truman Lane, Te Maunga (Mount Maunganui) and Dean Crescent (Waihi).
