Let's Keep Our Beautiful Backyard Clean
We Need Your Help - Council has produced a brochure, Lets Keep Our Beautiful Backyard Clean, as a guide to rubbish collections in the Western Bay area.
Council is also requesting your help in regards to reporting illegal dumping of rubbish.
0800TRASHY (0800872749) is the number to call to report illegal dumping of rubbish.
Rubbish Collection is not a Council service, however, Council is required to enforce the General Bylaw. The Bylaw states kerbside bags can only be left directly outside your own property.
Effective immediately Council will be identifying and prosecuting residents who do not comply with the Bylaw.
You can only use the kerbside bag (green or red) system if the truck collects the bag from outside your own property.
If the truck goes past your property, your bag must be put outside your property by 7.30am on the following days:
| Monday |
Waihi Beach, Tahawai |
| Tuesday |
Upper Papamoa, Maketu, Paengaroa, Pongakawa |
| Wednesday |
Te Puna, Minden, Omokoroa, Kaimai |
| Thursday |
Te Puke, Rangiuru, Pyes Pa, Oropi |
| Friday |
Katikati, Aongatete |
You cannot leave your rubbish bag at the end of roads on any day of the week – it is illegal!
