Council works with communities across the western bay to keep the district clean and green.
Where we can we encourage residents and visitors to the western bay to reduce, reuse and recycle. In doing so our aim is to ensure that current and future generations benefit and enjoy the unique flora and fauna of the western bay.
The Katikati and Waihi Beach Recycling Centre hours will be changing on 1 September for a 2 month trial period.
The trial hours will be:
Katikati Recycling Centre
Thursday 9am - 12noon
Saturday 1pm - 4pm
Sunday 9am - 12noon
Waihi Beach Reycling Centre
Thursday 1pm - 4pm
Saturday 9am - 12noon
Sunday 1pm - 4pm
The difference is they are no longer open on Tuesdays and are now open on Saturdays.
