Smart thinking about the future

When people choose to settle in the Western Bay they come with hopes and dreams about the community they now call "home". 

Council has a role to play in listening to what people want for their future and in helping them make it happen.

To this end Council is working with service providers from the wider community to nail down how we can all create a better life in the Bay.

This process is called SmartFuture and involves Council developing relationships with the community, non-government organisations, central government agencies, tangata whenua, businesses and community leaders.

Council has been bringing these agencies together to help communities be great places to live, work and play and to think about their future direction.
