Important information about paying your rates by credit card

The online credit card payment service (Mastercard or Visa only) is provided by the BNZ in agreement with Council.  You do not have to be a BNZ customer to use the service.

It's important to note that the BNZ charges a convenience fee of 2.49% per transaction for the service (with a minimum fee of $1.00 per transaction).  Council does not receive any part of this fee.

To make things easier, please have your rates invoice handy and be certain to enter your invoice number correctly. 

Payments made after 6pm New Zealand time will appear on your Council rate account the following business day, so please allow plenty of time for processing your payment.  If you leave things too late then your payment could get processed after the due date which may result in a late payment penalty.  

Once the transaction is completed you will be given a reference number (a receipt will not be provided) for your records.
