Western Bay district ratepayers will be paying, on average, an additional 4.10% in district rates of which 2.55% is an allowance for inflation leaving a 1.55% increase in real rates.  In addition, 0.58% more rates will be collected because of growth in the number of rateable properties in the district.

District-wide rates are made up of a number of different rates and charges which are payable on every property in the Western Bay of Plenty District.  Council will spend 54% of the total District-wide rates income, $14.4 million, on roading.
