Listed below are the main publications that provide information on the day to day work of Council. This information includes planning, reporting and a range of statutory requirements Council must comply with.
You will also find a range of other publications that contain information specific to a particular activity or community that Council has or is working with regarding infrastructure or services. These are under the General Publications section.
District Plan
Council's guiding document to meet its obligations under the provisions of the Resource Management act 1991 (RMA). The RMA makes it compulsory for councils to prepare a District Plan. The Plan uses rules that have the force of law, as well as other methods such as education programmes and incentives. Everybody, including Council, must comply with the plan.
Long Term Council Community Plan 2009-2019
This plan, also known as the LTCCP, outlines the finer points of why Council is doing things, what work will be completed over the next 10 years and what it will cost. Council is required to review the LTCCP every three years and the 2009-2019 Plan builds on the last LTCCP, which covered the period 2006-2016.
