Parks, Reserves and Walking Tracks

The Western Bay of Plenty District is blessed with a wide variety of parks, reserves and walking tracks.

Stretching from Orokawa Scenic Reserve just north of Waihi Beach along the western coast to the Papamoa Hills Cultural Heritage Regional Park, there's something on offer for everyone.

Please note that dogs are banned on some walking tracks, so it would pay to check this out before setting off from home with your dog - thanks!

Note:  We're currently updating our Walking Tracks of the Western Bay booklet so here's the 2011/2012 Residents Guide which features some of our more popular walks.

An important message regarding Kaiate Falls

A minor section of the track running beside the Kaiate Stream is PERMANENTLY CLOSED due to erosion.  The main track through the Falls is still open.
