Long term planning has always been at the heart of setting goals for Council's future direction.

We regularly seek input from residents and ratepayers on these goals and proposed pieces of work designed to meet them.

The consultation timeframes and processes that are associated with each of these projects and initiatives are driven by requirements under various pieces of legislation, including the Local Government Act and Resource Management Act.

Draft Reserves Plans

Council has prepared Draft Concept Development Plans for the Motunau and Otamarakau – Rogers Road Reserves and the Paengaroa and Pongakawa Domains.

Following Community Workshops and subsequent feedback from attendees, plans were prepared and referred to Council resulting in the Drafts now out for consultation. In addition preliminary cost estimates have been prepared and are also available for comment. In due course, the Plans will be inserted into the Maketu Ward Reserve Management Plan which is due to be reviewed in 2013/14.
